Character analysis:

-Hassan

Hassan is an angelic figure in the book, of course the servant boy of Baba’s house, working very hard inhumanly altruistic. Hassan is unbelievably loyal to Amir who often doesn’t treat him very well, he is very tolerant and often sacrifices himself to protect Amir. Hassan seems to learn that by being a servant he must make lots of sacrifices for others but instead of being envious, he is happy and content. Hassan is very innocent making his rape only more shocking. His rape and Amir’s inability to prevent it portrays Amir’s selfishness very plainly especially when compared to Hassan and his exorbitant amount of good traits.
