Tone of The Kite Runner...

Tone:

The general tone of the book revolves around the main character, Amir: his remorse, self-depreciation and troubles. Hosseini particularly communicates these tones as Amir describes himself “I was the snake in the grass, the monster in the lake.” This comparison of himself to creatures with such dark connotations captures the remorse and self-depreciating tone which hangs over the book.
