Narrator: Amir

Point of view: First person (Amir), tending to be subjective, covering events both in the past and more recently in his life using flashbacks.

Protagonist: Amir

Antagonist: Assef- Hassan and Sorab’s rapist.

Central Conflict: The guilt and shame Amir feels for not trying to stop Hassan being raped, his personal conflict with this and his attempt at “becoming good again”.
