Mood:
The mood in “The Kite Runner” predominantly
is quite tragic and tense. The Author, Khaled Hosseini toys with the reader in
the first page of the book when talking about the past he writes as Amir
“looking back now I realize I have been peeking into that deserted alleyway for
the last twenty-six years.” This statement about the past foreshadows the tragedies
to come and evokes the tense mood which the book builds until climax. The
tragedy is given away with the constant foreshadowing that Amir’s past will
catch up with him one day no matter what he tries to do.
