-Baba
A major character in “The Kite Runner”
is of course Amir’s father, Baba. Baba is a man of strong morals, a proud
demeanor and a complicated relationship with his son. Baba is a wealthy businessman
whose wife died in childbirth bearing Amir. It also appears that Amir’s similarities
to his mother make Amir a constant reminder of her death. Baba seems to
withhold affection and attachment to Amir, only making Amir crave it further. Amir’s
craving of love from Baba triggers many of the conflicts in the book. The
acceptance and Love Amir yearns from his father is never fully displayed although the do become closer in America.
